Little Miss Americana

So today for Strawberry Days in PG I decided it would be fun to enter Maddie into the baby contest. She was dressed up in Americana red white and blue. It was so cute and fun. She was in the 10-18 month category and she won. By the time they handed out awards she wasn't very happy because she had missed her morning nap.. and it was HOT! but when she got her trophy she was all smiles, she thought she had a new toy to chew on. The down side to her winning is that we have to be in the parade on Saturday. So watch for us if you will be there.

my dad with maddie when she was about a week old. he just loves and adores her and is such a good grandpa!

I love father's day and the time that it brings families together. it is a time for me to recogonize what amazing and special guys are in my life . my dad has always been such an example to me. he is one of the most amazing people i know. i am so thankful for our great relationship and our love that we have. my great husband is my other favorite father. i have never seen someone love a child like ryan loves his little girl. maddie is his world. there has never been a moment that he hasn't been there a 100% to help. he is so loving and just makes me and maddie's lives so much better. i don't know what i would do with out ryan or my dad. thank you ! i love you! happy father's day.

Ryan was Peter Pan for Halloween with his little Tinker Bell. He is not going to be happy knowing I shared this picture with every one. The next one is him and Maddie at the ocean for her first time. Then of course Ry in the Operating room after the C-section was all done! I think that was probably his best day ever... holding his little girl.

Happy Anniversary

yesterday was our 3rd anniversary. on saturday we went to the melting pot for dinner which was fun cause i love fondue, then ryan surprised me with an over night stay at the anniversary inn. it was so much fun and nice to relax, and grandma sorenson got to have her first overnighter with maddie. it was perfect. thanks honey!!

finally a full nights sleep!

so maddie being just six days shy of being 11 months old has now decided that she can sleep through the night and oh boy was it amazing. hopefully she will keep up this new talent... i know she is pretty old to still be waking up at night but we really did try a lot of things that didn't work to well. plus i couldn't help but feed her still because she is so little. she has finally hit 15 lbs. so i think we are good to go now! yeah maddie!!

the other day i went to feed maddie her cereal and veggies... well i set the bowl of cereal down a little to close to her. and lets just say she had a blast exploring through the mush and she even ate a little along the way. then she decided she didn't want to leave any in the bowl so she tried to lick it clean.. messy messy!!

Vaction Yeah!!

We went to Washington to visit my grandparents and family. it was a long drive but we survived. maddie got to experience a lot of "firsts" on this trip.

- first trip to the ocean

- first time on a merry-go-round

- first pony ride
- first time in a swimming pool

it was so much fun. we went to seaside and cannon beach which are ryan and i's most favorite places in the world. we got to ride on the merry-go-round which i was looking forward to forever. maddie didn't know waht to think but by the end she was getting use to it. we then went to tillamook to visit some cousins. while there we were able to go to the tillamook cheese factory. it was so cool to see. we also ate some yummy food and had icecream. we then went back to my grandparents where we stayed the remainder of the trip. my other cousin was nice to saddle up her little old pony for maddie to ride. she had so much fun. but it turned out to be a way fun trip and maddie did really well for her first long adventure away from home. here are some pics sorry theres a lot. i'm having trouble posting pics so i will get to those later!
